Types of Wardrobes

When choosing a wardrobe, think about where it will go and how you need to use it.  Depending on what kind of space you have—and whether you’d like to make its contents visible—here are the main types of wardrobes to consider.

Freestanding
Freestanding wardrobes can be moved around the room when furniture needs to be rearranged.  Some freestanded wardrobes have finished backs that can be placed anywhere and look great;  Others have unfinished backs that must be carefully positioned against a wall or other surface for optimal aesthetics.  Many free-standing wardrobes feature fabric, particleboard or other lightweight materials that are easy to move around.

Doorless

A closet without a door is exactly what it sounds like;  The closet has essentials like shelves, drawers and hanging rods, but no doors to hide the contents.  It's very easy to use because everything is there, ready to be taken out of a drawer or hanger.  A doorless closet, on the other hand, needs to be neat, because there's no way to hide shoes that are carelessly thrown on shelves or in overflowing drawers.

sliding
"Sliding" refers to the doors themselves and the space they take up.  Closets with sliding doors take up less space because no extra space is needed for the door to turn.  The doors open and then push back, either along special grooves into the closet or out, where they stay until it's time to close.  This makes them ideal for small Spaces.

What to consider when shopping for the best wardrobe
When choosing the best wardrobe, consider where it is most needed, the style that matches the current decor, the materials that work best, and how big it can be in the existing space.  There are other considerations.  Let's take a look at these.

Size & Usage
Take a close look at clothes and accessories in your closet.  Maybe it's just a matter of hanging up clothes;  In this case, it's best to consider a closet with a laundry pole on top.  Drawers and shelves are great places to store accessories, such as scarves and boots.  When in doubt, find more storage space, or compromise by adding a drawer or two to the bottom of your closet.  Clothing storage will also be a factor in determining the size of the unit, as well as the floor space available.

Function and utility
These use skill reflected optimal wardrobe functional sex and practical.  However, it is important to consider how often the wardrobe needs to be moved.  For those who like to change the layout (or position) frequently, the lightweight option is better than the weight option.  If the owner does not intend to organize the contents, or does not wish to display the contents, it is best to have a model with a door.  Those looking to replace their chests of drawers might benefit from a large closet with shelves and drawers.  Also, consider other uses for your wardrobe that could give it a whole new life.  If it has the capacity to accommodate a fairly large TV, it could become an entertainment wardrobe.  A multipurpose closet that can add new drawers or shelves can be turned into a hobby or craft center.

Style and material
Wardrobe style depends largely on the decor of a home and how attractive a particular look is.  Wardrobes range from stylish minimalism to gorgeous broad styles.  The materials used can also reflect the style, as solid wood seems more stately than solid fabric.  However, the choice of materials can change the wardrobe or choose a home style to match it over the years to come.  Consider the location of your wardrobe, what duties it will perform, and choose fabrics and styles accordingly.
